The Walkie Talkie is a large skyscraper currently under construction in the city of London. The official name of the building is actually 20 Fenchurch Street, but the nickname has become so popular that almost no one refers to the official name. The nick name Walkie-Talkie is derived from the shape of building which resembles the famous radio communication device.

The floor plates of the building are larger on the higher floors than on the lower, giving it a top heavy look. This has been noted by the developer of the building who have given it the tag line ‘the building with ore on top’. Once complete, the Walkie-Talkie will have a public garden on its highest floor open to the public free of charge.

Current Status: UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The building is almost externally finished, with only the roof still under construction.
